Kuala Lumpur: a video of Malaysia’s bustling metropolis

The urban wonder of Kuala Lumpur

The experience of Kuala Lumpur can literally make one want to stay and become part of the fast paced urban scene. It seems from the very first glance like it is everything a city should be. There are endless opportunities to shop, to dine and drink luxuriously, to encounter jungle like nature in the midst of the city and behold an endless surge of building projects in every quarter of town. Perhaps the most attractive aspect of the city is not so much that the city demands your respect, rather it earns your respect, whether you are a tourist or a local.

It earns your respect with its enormous malls and public spaces, all of which are clean. It earns respect with an efficient and speedy public transit system and it earns respect most of all by the visible commitment of many of its citizens caring for their city and keeping an eye on progress. Kuala Lumpur is one of those cities where there is a defined goal, something that people want their city to achieve. It is assuredly happening as people from all sectors and parts of town have welcomed new citizens and ever increasing amounts of tourists to be part of their dream. Sure no city is without faults and it could be argued that one of the biggest inconveniences is traffic here, but even that can be avoided with careful planning.

It is funny to think that the literal meaning of Kuala Lumpur translates to a muddy confluence of rivers, mostly based on the natural settings upon which the city was first founded. Well the city still sits at the confluence of many things, tourism, immigration, culture, development and the list goes on. The blend of so many elements and the pooling of so many people obviously has immense benefits when people are proactive and desire to contribute to the betterment of their city. This is a town where so much is going on that one feels like there is never enough time to see it all. In fact the city has many digital and print papers with just that, literally hundreds of shows, openings, exposes and entertainment to last a lifetime.

Kuala Lumpur is a destination you will not soon forget and one to which you may definitely return. It is affordable, pleasurable, unique, progressive and there are an infinite number of experiences awaiting the curious traveler.
